The "who" of the Station House

The people and communities who have their history and stories intertwined with that of the Station House are what bring the Station House to life and imparts on it its true heritage and cultural value. There are many communities and groups of people have been impacted by the Hope Station House, and more generally the railway system in BC and Canada. The history of the railway system is the history of how this country was built.
Indigenous Communities, Japanese Canadians, Chinese Canadians, Black Canadians, East Indian Canadians and other communities have been involved in Canada's railway history, and by association, the history of the Station House.
